Gujarati Cultural Festival (GCF)

Our Mission:

The mission of the Gujrati Cultural Festival is to bridge the gap between cultures and communities through a wide range of events.

We believe that by increasing engagement and education of Gujarati heritage through art, poetry, dance, music, and linguistics, we can forge new relationships and celebrate our rich culture together.

GCF Brief History

• Intercity Raas-Garba competition
• Core cities – Calgary, Edmonton & Vancouver
• Occurs every 4 years with rotating city host
• Last hosted at Calgary in 2012
• Last GCF in 2016 at Vancouver with 110 participants from Calgary participating in all 4 categories.
• Typical dance categories – Youth Folk, Adult Raas, Adult Garba & Seniors Folk
