2026 Annual General Meeting

This is an official notice that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gujarati Mandal Calgary (GMofC) will be held as follows:
Date: Sunday, March 15, 2026
Time: 10:00 am onwards
Venue: NICC (New Indo-Canadian Centre) Bay #8 1916A 30th Ave NE Calgary, AB T2E 7B2
The agenda for the Annual General Meeting shall be as follows:
- Adopting the agenda.
- Adopting the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting.
- Nomination for Executive Officers and Board of Directors. Election for the position of President.
- Report from the President.
- Report from the Vice-President - Events organized in partnership with other organizations.
- Report from the Secretary - Updates on Membership.
- Treasurer Report:
- Presentation of audited 2025 Financial Statements.
- Approval of Financial Statements for the year ended on December 31, 2025.
- Appointment of Auditors for the 2026 financial year.
- Any other business.
- Any other topics under this agenda item must be submitted prior to adopting the agenda. No additional items from the floor will be allowed after the agenda is adopted.
- Electing Executive Officers and Directors for the year 2026.
- Remarks from the incoming President.
- Motion to destroy ballots, if elections are conducted.
- Motion to adjourn the meeting.
Notes:
- We have added Item 3 to ease the election process.
- The financial statements will be made available on our website in the coming days to allow members sufficient time to review them before the AGM.

- Director – Youth

NOMINATION GUIDELINES
- Any GMofC member can nominate a candidate for a position with the candidate's permission.
- A Seconder is also required and must be a member of GMofC.
How to Nominate a Candidate:
- Nominator, Nominee and Seconder must be present at the AGM.
- To Nominate a Candidate, any GMofC member can complete the Official Nomination Form below:
- The Nominee must complete the Nomination Form before the Sunday, March 8th, 2026.
Before submitting a nomination, please ensure:
- The candidate has been a GMofC member in good standing for at least six (6) months and has no criminal record.
- Note: For the position of President, the candidate must have held the GMofC membership for a minimum of 1,065 days.
- The candidate has reviewed and understands the Roles and Responsibilities of the specific position.
- The candidate is fully committed to fulfilling the duties and requirements of the role and is willing to serve, if elected.
- The candidate acknowledges that the term of office will commence on April 1, 2026 and conclude on March 31, 2027.

SUB-COMMITTEES FOR THE ELECTED POSITIONS
To provide support for each elected position (Executives & Directors), the respective sub-committees of 1 or 2 members will be formed.
How to Join a Sub-Committee:
- Attend the AGM: If you are interested in joining a sub-committee, please attend the AGM and submit your name, indicating which position you would like to support.
- Email Submission: If you cannot attend the AGM, please send an email to executives@gmofc.org with the following information:
- Your name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- The position you wish to support as a Sub-Committee member.
